It's a cricket. Specifically, it's a Jerusalem cricket in the family Stenopelmatidae.
OK, that's huge. I'd be frightened I found something that big in my apartment.
If that was in my apartment, I may or may not have been capeable of posting. This was outside, near the light post featured in my spider video earlier.
eeek!! those are scary.. we used to get a ton of those when i lived in mexico city... they scared me and we called them "Cara de niƱo."
